Solid wood “steam nose” paipo bellyboard made in the 1930’s. Featuring redwood and pine construction with innovative nose design. High temperature steam was applied which created a curve in the nose. A steam nose board is featured in two different books on surfboards (on page 342 in “The Ultimate Guide to Vintage Surfboards & Collectibles” and on page 49 in a surfboard collector book titled “365 Surfboards” written in 2013 by Ben Marcus). A remarkable example of a period piece small bellyboard in all original condition!
