Buffalo Keaulana personal surfboard shaped by the late Ben Aipa (1942-2021) in 1969. Made for Hawaiian surfing royalty, Buffalo Keaulana. Inducted into the Surfing Walk of Fame in Huntington Beach in 2005, the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame in 2010, and head lifeguard at Makaha Beach on Oahu’s West Side from 1969-1995. Ben Aipa (1942-2021), revered Hawaiian surfboard design pioneer known for “Da Sting” was inducted into the Surfer’s Hall of Fame in 2018 as a pioneer of the sport, and Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame in 2020. Shaped at the Greg Noll Surfcenter Hawaii factory in 1969. Featuring the original Buffalo Nickel which Keaulana embedded into the foam of many of his surfboards. Signed “AIPA / BUFF”. 9’0, pintail. Partially restored (color work on bottom) by the renowned surfboard restoration expert, Randy Rarick. A truly significant piece of Hawaii surfing history.
