Lightning Bolt surfboard shaped by Barry Kanaiaupuni in the early 1970s. Featuring a complex blue lightning bolt jag variation with matching tri-color glassed on single fin. 8’2, rounded pintail. Remarkable all original condition. In 1976, Barry Kanaiaupuni was ranked #9 in the world. Barry also shaped surfboards for many of the best surfers of the 1970s, including 1977 world champion Shaun Tomson. Kanaiaupuni was featured in nearly every surf film of the early-mid 1970s, including Cosmic Children (1970), Morning of the Earth (1972), Five Summer Stories (1972), Fluid Drive (1973), Going Surfin’ (1973), and Tales from the Tube (1975).
