Lightning Bolt surfboard shaped by Gerry Lopez in the mid 1970s, serial #531. Featuring a bright blue lightning bolt with pinstriped outline and blue tinted bottom. Unique jet black rail bolts running the length of the board. 7’0 swallow tail, glassed on single fin. Signed “LOPEZ” in pencil on the foam and again “Lopez…” in ink above. This incredible example remains in all original condition. Undoubtedly, one of the best preserved Gerry Lopez shaped Lightning Bolts to ever hit the market. The original owner purchased this surfboard directly from the co-founder of Lightning Bolt Surfboards, Jack Shipley. A fully restored 1978 Lightning Bolt shaped by Gerry Lopez sold for $20,000 +15% buyers fee (final price of $23,000) at a 2019 auction. This all original unrestored example would command a premium to discerning collectors. Proudly ride or display this matchless all original Lightning Bolt hand shaped by Mr. Pipeline himself.
