Rare Tom Blake ‘Kookbox’ surfboard made in the late 1930s-early 40s. Manufactured by the Catalina Equipment Co. based in Los Angeles, California. From 1932-early 1950s Tom Blake’s designs were manufactured commercially by companies such as L.A. Ladder Co. and the Catalina Equipment Company, leaving their mark as the major builders of Blake’s hollow boards. This particular example was owned since new by a lifeguard in the Catskills during the 1940’s. The owner later moved to Westport, Connecticut and took the board out for a paddle in the Long Island Sound a couple times per year. A very lightly used and well cared for example of a Tom Blake wooden paddleboard/surfboard. Over 80 years old! Don’t miss your chance to own this incredible piece of surfing history!
