Waikiki Beach Hawaii plank-style 7’0 redwood surfboard, made in Hawaii in the 1920’s. Previously owned by an affluent female world traveler, Rari Rogers. In the early 1900’s, Rari stayed with the king and queen of Greece, helping her majesty set up Young Women’s Christian Associations. The present owner is Roger’s great grandson, who inherited two early plank style surfboards from her. He believes Rari had spent time in the Hawaiian Islands during her travels and tried her hand at surfing. She returned home from her world travels with two early surfboards in tow. This particular example is the shorter of two plank style surfboards we are currently offering for sale. A truly exquisite and rare example of an early surfboard made in Hawaii!
