Bob Perko’s personal Yater pintail surfboard shaped in the late 1960s. Featuring sleek black panels with green 1960s Yater laminate. Complimentary emerald green single fin with yellow halo. 9’6 pintail. Fully restored by renowned surfboard restoration expert, Randy Rarick. The famous surf break ‘Perkos’ at Hollister Ranch, California was named after Bob Perko. The first waves Perko rode at the Ranch were in 1957, his surf buddy Ken Kesson suggested they both head north to look for unridden waves, instead of surfing the usual spots in Santa Barbara. It turned out to be the best decision of their surfing careers. They discovered picture perfect peeling waves, arguably the best in all of California, with no other surfers for miles. The rest is history. Bob has since been a distinguished member of Santa Barbara surfing royalty, joining the likes of Renny Yater, George Greenough, John Bradbury, and other early members of the Santa Barbara Surf Club. Ride or display this historically significant vintage 1960s Yater surfboard.
